Personal Statement
My experiences as a natural scientist and educator have resulted in my focus on both the social and ecological perspectives of biological conservation. My graduate studies are centered around the practical aspects of conservation biology, specifically the incorporation of human dimensions into sustainable conservation plans. My thesis research took place in Honduras, where I evaluated the effectiveness of an environmental leadership development program in removing barriers to environmental attitudes and behaviors.
