Seed Scholarship In Tropical Conservation Awarded!Congratulations to Jeff Brown, Antioch University New England MS Student in Conservation Biology. Jeff utilized this scholarship to take part in assessing juvenile reef fish recruitment along the coral reefs surrounding Utila Island in Honduras. Award DescriptionThe Center for Tropical Ecology and Conservation (CTEC), Department of Environmental Studies at Antioch University New England, is pleased to announce the creation of a new scholarship for Environmental Studies graduate students conducting research pertaining to tropical conservation. The Scholarship is meant to support the seed of tropical conservation work: new ideas or new initiatives and to help students get their research off the ground.CTEC will be awarding scholarship funds up to $1000 to AUNE Environmental Studies graduate students each June 1st starting in 2005. This scholarship is possible through the generous endowment of an ES alumnus and faculty. Qualifications:Students interested in applying for this scholarship must be enrolled with at least half time status in the Environmental Studies Department at Antioch University New England at the time of their application for the scholarship. Funds may be requested for field work on a tropical ecology or conservation project, including field equipment or travel to the field site, or travel to present a paper or poster at a conference or symposium on the student's tropical research. Requests for funding will be considered up to $1000. The student must demonstrate the link between their thesis work and tropical conservation, and this research must count towards their graduate degree at AUNE.Application Deadline: For more information, contact: Beth Kaplin | ||||
